I’ve just signed an online petition on https://www.europeanreferendum.eu/. Proposed by: Union of European Federalists (UEF) (www.federaleurope.org) and Young European Federalists (JEF Europe) (http://www.jef.eu).
It aims to get 1 million supporters (now 14.065) for an European referendum about Constitution in 2009.

The French debate before the May 2005 national referendum did not convince me that referenda are a good means to decide complicated matters.
But if there has to be a referendum on a European Constitution, it has to be Europe-wide.
So, I’m with you.
Regards
Ralf Grahn
Yes, this is also my opinion. Separate national referenda about European matters are a slightly nonsense: the mistake in the French and Dutch cases wasn’t to ask citizens their own opinion about the Constitution, but to organize such referenda on national basis.
